1. Miyazaki Mango 

One of the high-priced mangoes in the world which can cost up to Rs 3 lakh per kg. It is mostly grown during the harvest season from April to August in Miyazaki City, Japan. The mangoes have purple color when unripe, but they turn red after ripening. These expensive mangoes thrive in warm weather conditions. Most farmers in Japan cover the Miyazaki mango in a small net to assure an even distribution of sunlight. 

2. Kohitur Mango 

This luxury mangoes variety pricing starts from Rs. 1500 per piece. You can see this commonly in Bengal’s Murshidabad. These rare mangoes were cultivated during the reign of Nawab of Bengal Siraj-Ud-Daula. Kohitur mango is known for its intense flavor and bright red flesh. In 2018, the West Bengal government advised a geographical indication (GI) tag for it. 

3. Sindhri Mango 

Sindhri mangoes are grown widely in the Sindh region, Pakistan. It is known as the ‘Queen of Mangoes’. These costly mango varieties are well known for their high sweetness. A single piece of Sindhri mango cost up to Rs.3000. 

4. Manila Mango 

Also known as the Philippine mango or Carabao mango. Manila mango is grown in the coastal region of Masinloc, Philippines. 23% sugar content exists in this mango variety. These exclusive mangoes are known for their exotic taste and sweetness. Depending on size and quality, it cost around 1500-1600 per mango. As per the Guinness Book of World Records in 1995, these mangoes were ranked as the sweetest mangoes in the world. 

5. Hakugin No Taiyo Mango

These valuable mangoes sold for $230 per piece and it’s cultivated by Hiroyuki Nakagawa in Japan since 2011. He is cultivating this mango in winter with the use of a foggy greenhouse at his farm. Also, he named the breed ‘Hakugin noTaiyo’ which means ‘Sun in the Snow.’ Some of the famous clients of this mango include Natsuko Shoji, Asia’s Best Female Chef 2022.
