If we study in detail, fish oil has two main forms of Omega-3 fatty acids. They are Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) and Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA). The Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) handles the operation of the brain and Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) helps the skin by controlling the oil formation. The oil formation processes maintain moisture in the skin, stop acne, and postpones the skin maturing process. The EPA also protects the skin from the sun damage and help repair it as it is an anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant agent. Many people don’t get sufficient Omega-3 fatty acids in the diet. The best sources of fish oil are tuna, herring, salmon, mackerel, and anchovies, etc., which should be boiled or baked to get best health effects. However, it should have 120 milligrams of DHA and 180 milligrams of EPA. It should be consumed daily three times with each meal. This means three capsules per day are required for the human body to maintain the level of Omega-3 fatty acids. Fish oil supplements also provide vitamins to the body and skin.

As per the research, a lack of fatty acids, Omega-3, is found in most of the people staying in North America region. These people are more prone to skin diseases like eczema, acne, psoriasis, and dry skin.
