What is PCOS?
PCOS is called as the Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and is seen in women as an illness that is related to the menstrual cycle. The disease is seen in the age group of women who are in the reproductive stage between 16 to 45 years. It affects the menstrual cycle of a woman, Hormonal changes, affects he blood vessels, appearance, aging, ability to have children and functioning of the heart.
Cause
The exact cause of the Polycystic Ovary Syndrome is not known. It is said that genetics play an important role in the cause of the disease. Women having the family history of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome are more prone to it. Hormonal imbalance can cause this disease up to a certain level. Androgens are produced from a woman’s hormone than the normal limit which prevents the reproduction cycle in the female. Furthermore, women who suffer from the Polycystic Ovary Syndrome produce a lot of Insulin in their body which is related to the control of sugar and starch in the body. This too much insulin in the body is not used by the women and hence can cause acne, weight gain, menstrual cycle issues and excessive growth of hair.

It is believed that maintaining a proper and healthy diet can control Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. This healthy diet can be combined with regular exercise. It may be difficult for some people to exercise at first as the most common symptom of the Polycystic Ovary Syndrome is obesity and extra pounds. Due to the weight, they may find hard to exercise. Proper food habits and weight reducing treatments can help you shed those extra pounds. After the weight loss, one can follow the regular diet and exercise to reverse the problems of the Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.
